SCORPIO READING OF THE MONTH
What a great time... leaves are changing,
dropping, shedding. Rain is falling. It's
Scorpio, Day of the Day, Samhain, and the
"hallowed in-between" season of living your
death, and visiting your ancestors. Ask
yourself, "what must I let go of now?" I just
picked my "death" Card on
www.voyagertarot.com
and got "Death"!! Let go of the sorrow and
celebrate the dying! (No Death, No Life). I was
just asked to review a manuscript entitled,
"Talk To Me Softly" by Joyce Mole. It's about
her experience taking people to the "other side"
at a hospice. She writes, "Death is a highly
underrated experience that has received bad
press." Yes. In the exhalation comes the upswell
of inspiration – Aspiration (4 of Wands) leads
to Commencement/ Rebirth ( 4 of Worlds). In this
world of flux and constant change, dropping
resistance is key, particularly letting go the "manana"
attitude of "I'll do it later." It's all about
NOW! (though the author, Tolle, of the "Power of
Now" and his audiotapes put me to sleep... but
that's a present, too). Do it Immediately! Get
up, take care of it, get it done, Move... bones
like to rock n' roll and the "dead can dance."
November 2, Day of the Dead, dance in homage
and thanks to your forbearers. Include them in
your prayers. And ask for guidance. A great
question of the tarot... "What do my loved ones
on the other side want to tell me?" We are in
contact through the veils, and November 2 is the
great unveiling time. Drop it.
ABOUT MASKS
We
all wear a mask all of the time... it's called
our social role and persona. As Plato says, "The
mask which we wear is apt to become our face."
What is our original essence, our true face?
Drop the social role, put on a "mask mask" and
explore new and different facets of yourself.
The "mask mask" is an instrument of
metamorphosis. The wearer reaches the power to
which it appeals; the wearer is the channel to
the god.
In the death mask I became the spectre of death,
the primal feeling of being chased by time, the
reaper of life. Urgency is required. Swiftly,
swiftly, speed is of the essence, to do my
destiny. Now!
CARD OF THE MONTH ... DEATH
The first Death card that Ken Knutson and I
made in 1982 was so full of death symbols that
it teemed with life! I stood back, looked at it
and was taken aback... wrong message! Death– a
time of shedding, fading into blackness,
no-thing. We literally went through a death as
we ripped away all our magnificent death
symbols. What a great event it is to make a
Deck, because at some level, you have to live
the card, experience its emotion and energy! So,
again, the question of the month, "What to let
go of in your life that you are so attached to?"
The spiritual path is the way of non-attachment,
how bitter sweet it is.
